Nestled in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, between Paris and its poshest suburb (Neuilly), a vessel of white glass sails seems to float in the greenery.
Created by world-renowned architect Franck Gehry and initiated by billionaire and art-lover Bernard Arnault (also CEO of LVHM group), this museum is a work of art in itself.
Fondation Louis Vuitton opened its doors in 2014. The building is set in the very chic and historical Jardin d’Acclimatation, a garden, zoo, and amusement park where many Parisians hold fond memories of their childhood. Located half-way between two exclusive residential areas, the city of Neuilly-sur-Seine and the 16th arrondissement of Paris, FLV brings art and culture to the West end. Not only does it boast permanent and temporary exhibitions but it also includes an auditorium, a bookshop, and a restaurant!
Evening and late hours tours are available for specific exhibits, such as “In Tune with the World” (up until August 27, 2018), a new selection of artists unveiled from the collection.Whether you choose to visit the museum or to have dinner on the premises, do make sure to secure a reservation online. Now, if it is a Louis Vuitton purse you are looking for, hop on a cab and visit their Champs Élysées store!
